Analysis of the influence of L-PBF porosity on the mechanical behavior of AlSi10Mg by XRCT-based FEM

This work aims to present an XRCT-based FEM methodology assess the influence of porosity defects on mechanical behavior and failure L-PBF AlSi10Mg components. Hence, performance is estimated by means XRCT scanning analysis features, followed modelling digitalized For this purpose, some test specimens with induced artificial were manufactured L-PBF, according ASTM E8/E8M. Once done, inspection defect characterization carried out XRCT. Porosity features such as void size, shape location, apart from percentage, analyzed.
